13.2.8 Wisdom and Knowledge Series, post #13. Buddhism, post #9: HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!; loss of loved one and maybe you can suffer from it, 'pema'=affection, 'asubha'=repulsiveness (asubha meditation)

Wisdom and Knowledge Series, post #13. Buddhism, post #9 (13.2.8):

Some of you out there may be lonely this Valentine's Day. I have no girlfriend, but still am okay.

If you think having a partner in life is all that great, think about this:

Your partner dies and you are crying, screaming, talking to them and asking where they are. They just lie there in your arms, and they will never answer you (At least, that's the common way it is with a dead person). You will never know where they went (unless possibly you develop meditative powers to see things like that, but that is only a possibility you can do that; I don't know if one can actually do it, and if a person can, I don't know if you can do it).

So not having a love of your life, you won't suffer that. That's a plus from not having a love of your life. I think it's called 'pema' ('affection'?) in Pali language.

Also, the body is not that great. This is asubha meditation. Asubha=repulsiveness.

From,
Ai
